           About Gail

Picture
Gail has a heart for
hurting women!

She is passionate about sharing and
welcomes the opportunity to discuss working with your group.

Gail is a heartwarming, moving, and genuine speaker, storyteller, and guide. Her passion is to encourage hurting women, particularly single moms, to discover and develop their abilities and inner strengths. Gail inspires  audiences to cultivate and grow spiritually with her artfully told personal stories.

Gail was a single mother of three for sixteen years before she married Sam in 1996. She knows the struggles, the heartaches, and the day-to-day difficulties of being single and head of a household. During her years as a single mom she learned to depend on the Lord for guidance. Though she is happily remarried, her heart’s desire is to offer seeds of guidance to single moms.

Gail has produced babies, Braille, and burnout—and bears witness to the benefits of all three. Her passion for single moms motivated her to establish SMORE for Women, an alliance of compassionate women whose goal is - Single Moms Overjoyed, Rejuvenated, Empowered!

Now that she is remarried and her children are grown she writes, speaks, presents workshops on boundaries for single parents, and presents messages to groups on overcoming the obstacles in their lives. Gail is available to serve as a facilitator for the implementation of a DAY of Blessing for single moms with churches or organizations.

Gail holds a Master’s degree from The University of Texas and she worked in public education for eighteen years. Her inspiring articles have appeared in Focus on the Family’s Single Parent Family, Valley Living for the Whole Family, LIVE, a Weekly Journal of Practical Christian Living, and Standard. She also has stories in the book, But Lord, I Was Happy Shallow by Marita Littauer, and Laundry Tales to Lighten the Load by Melissa Howell and Angela Peters.

Gail makes her home in Nederland, Texas with her husband Sam. They each have three grown children.

I have attended many seminars and workshops during my thirty years in the corporate world, some of which were for professional development while others addressed personal growth and relationships. There are always those few programs that stand out and Gail Showalter's seminars are most definitely among them. Gail shares great information in a format that is easy to comprehend, extremely well organized and as entertaining as it is educational. Two thumbs up!
